4 Creative Ways to Spend Quality Time With Kids

You may feel like parenthood comes with a whole lot of extra responsibilities that leave you with absolutely no time. In most cases, parents tend to compromise on quality time with their kids in order to fulfil other routine tasks. However, it is important to realise that as parents, it is necessary to spend quality time with kids for their happiness and development. They will learn a lot about you and your life values if they spend ample of quality time with you.

The following are 4 creative ways to spend time with kids even when you feel like you don’t have the time:

1. Play children games – You might want to give up your mobile phone games and start playing kids’ games to get to know your children better. You will have a fun-filled evening and your children will get a chance to play competitively with you.

2. Fix things together – Home improvement projects are a great way to bond with kids and teach them valuable lessons as well. You can ask them to accompany you while fixing a punctured tire or repairing a tap or putting up a new shelf. Talk them through the process and as they grow up, give them a chance to join in. They will learn to safely fix things and at the same time, establish a good rapport with you.

3. Eat together – Breakfasts may be chaotic and lunches may be at work, but make sure that dinner time is family time. Spend this time to talk to your children, ask them about their day and have a fun-filled meal. You will anyway eat everyday so won’t need to spare extra time for this. Just be mentally and emotionally available for your children and it will go a long way in establishing a bond.

4. Reading books togetherThis is a great way to bond with your child as well as have an engaging learning session. When your child is learning to read, curl up on the couch with a book and some hot milk and it will be a truly special moment.

It might seem overwhelming to decide how to spend quality time with child, but once you start making time and include their activities in your daily schedule, it will become much easier and rewarding to enjoy family time.
