Share Patriotism in Class with Jhansi Ki Rani Poem

Learning to read and write is a significant cognitive process and is also an essential tool for appreciating the subject matter. Reports have stated that adopting a positive atmosphere and effective interactive strategy for literacy helps to encourage good conduct in little kids.

Poetry has always been used to teach them concepts that include rhythm, rhyme, phonemic awareness and educate them in various aspects of life. Since poetry is the first genre that the child hears and is an oral tradition for young children and for early readers, it helps to clearly understand a particular language. Here in this blog, I will help you to understand the importance that patriotic poem holds in our early lives.

The role of Patriotic Hindi poems:

Hindi poems have offered a variety of opportunities to children in their classroom and have helped to learn peer group solutions to problems. In today’s age of political unrest, where citizens show little respect to the flag or even the country, it is very easy to be careless about our attitude we have towards the nation. If this continues, then our future will shortly be devastated, so it is important to try to develop the sense of patriotism in our kids and encourage them to feel their love for the country.

Developing patriotism amongst children through various literary means like poems in Hindi is important as they can understand the language easily. This will help to develop a sense of making sacrifices for the welfare of the society and the nation when they grow up to be adult citizens.

Jhansi Ki Rani is an inspirational and patriotic poem written by Subhadra Kumari that describes how Rani Laxmi Bai fought with the intruders and tried to save her motherland till her last breath. It is an emotionally charged poem that teaches children about her bravery and love for her country. She faced every challenge boldly and the poem openly talks about the freedom movement. Jhansi Ki Rani poem in Hindi is a great literary piece of art that helps to develop the sense of patriotism in the kids through unity and homogeneity.

The sense of nationalism can be developed in the kids from a very early age, but unfortunately our education structure has changed a lot and now children are assessed more on the basis of marks that they acquire in their examinations. This outlook should be changed and parents and teachers should be made to realize that developing the sense of nationalism is important so that when they grow up they have a true feeling and respect for their country.

Patriotism or love for our country is not the tear that we have in our eye when we recite a poem or how straight we stand during our national anthem, it is truly depicted in the way we live our life.

Fast Ways to Cope Up With Baby Tantrums

Meltdowns or baby tantrums are one of the most frustrating and even stressful things that parent of little kids have to deal with. But most kids show their tantrums only when they are frustrated or cannot express themselves clearly. Kids between the ages of 1 to 4 don’t usually develop good coping skills and are unable to communicate their needs. They get frustrated easily when their parents don’t respond to their needs and to assert them more, they throw tantrums, which are actually very difficult to handle at times. So, here in this blog, I will share with you some tips on how to handle baby tantrums fast.

Understand the kid’s personality: Many little kids have their own schedules fixed for the day like mealtimes, bedtimes and this makes them expect all these at various times of the day. But sometimes due to out of schedules, the child may feel stressed and tired and want the comfort zone. Understanding the specific needs of the child will help to control temper tantrums easily.

Stop screaming back: Even if your child is throwing a tantrum in public, it is important for you to remain cool. Showing anger or yelling at him or her will only worsen the situation. So, try not to join in, as this will only prolong the outburst. It is good to keep cool and help the kid to come out of the situation.

Prepare the kid for the consequences: Always be realistic with the expectations and also make your child understand what is coming after the situation. Let him or her know the consequences after the baby tantrum and stick to it. Handle the situation carefully and if your kid wants something, then help him to cope up with his frustration. Listing down the things they want on pen and paper may help you to handle baby tantrums easily.

Plan ahead and avoid your child’s triggers: Always try to plan ahead of time and try to avoid the triggers that may make your child upset. Remember that the main focus is to try some new things that can help to avoid the triggers. For little kids, physical triggers are very common and for that, make sure they have proper rest and food and your outing is not over extended.

Isolate your child: By this point, I don’t mean that put your child in isolation for a long period of time, but you can take him to some spot where he can have a cooling period. After he calms down make him feel comfortable by showing that you care for his feelings.

Enhance the Auditory Skills with Humpty Dumpty Nursery Rhyme

We all are familiar with famous nursery rhymes like Jack and Jill, Humpty Dumpty and etc. and even today we continue to teach out little kids these classic rhymes in the same form that we were told by our parents. I still remember reading nursery rhymes as a child from a big book with pictures that is still packed in the box somewhere. That was my favorite book as a child.

Now, when I see my little kids reading English rhymes, I remember my childhood days. My children read them from modern books that have larger prints and more beautiful illustrations, but the purpose to read rhymes still remains the same. These poems have been around for hundreds of years and contribute a lot in a child’s reading development.

Research has stated that there is a strong relationship between a child and classic rhymes and their success in future reading and spelling. Kids who are familiar with various poetries when they are between the age of three and six have increased literacy abilities in the coming years.

Their knowledge is a powerful predictor of their skills in phonological awareness. Humpty Dumpty nursery rhyme has an underlying meaning in which Humpty Dumpty represents the King Richard III of England. The wall represents his horse. Others refer it to the downfall of Cardinal Wolsey at the hands of King Henry VIII.

Nursery rhymes allow parents and teachers to carry the child to an imaginary world of fantasy and play, which helps to develop the kid’s visualization skills by using actions. These short poems often tell a story and have a beginning, middle and an end. Since it is a compact way of storytelling, it helps the child to easily follow and understand the sequence of events that will be of great help when they read big stories in the future. It helps to improve their vocabulary as they hear and use new words that they may not come across in everyday language.

Nursery rhymes in English improve extensive literary skills that include phonemic awareness, vocabulary, oral language, fluency and comprehension. It is through playful ways and actions that it draws the child’s attention to the sounds of different words and helps them to learn the spellings. The ups and downs in the poems, the pauses and the loud patterns give children a scope to combine visual and movement activities that are easy ways to enhance the auditory aspects of the lesson. The more enjoyable, personalized and interactive the rhyming activity is, the better is the learning process ahead.

Moong Dal Halwa: A Rich Dish That Most Is Perfect For Festive Occasions

Indian sweets and desserts are popular all over the world and some traditional recipes are so delicious that no one can ever refuse. Halwa is a popular dish that can be made from different ingredients that include cereals, vegetables, and fruits and is usually prepared with lots of ghee, khoya, dry fruits which impart a beautiful taste and flavor to the dish. Halwa is also prepared on festive occasions like marriage party, holi, Diwali and etc.

Moong Dal Halwa

Moong dal halwa is a traditional recipe from the Rajasthan kitchen and is mostly prepared during the winter months as it keeps the body warm and protects it from cold. This dessert is also prepared during celebrations. The cooking process takes a lot of time and patience, but the final result is worth the effort put into it.

Moong dal halwa recipe is a rich, creamy dessert that is prepared from split yellow moong dal and is divine in taste. I have seen my grandmother prepare it by soaking the dal and removing the skin from it by washing it several times and then manually grinding it as we didn’t have a mixer grinder during that time. The mawa and khoya added to the halwa gave it a rich texture and the strong aroma of the roasted dal would make my mouth watery.

Here in this blog, I will share with you the moong dal halwa recipe so that you too can enjoy the rich aroma and taste that the dish offers.

  • Wash three cups of yellow moong dal and remove the dirt in it. Soak the dal for 4-5 hours and you will see that the dal will swell up. Drain the extra water and rinse the dal once again.
  •  Now grind the dal in a mixer into a fine paste without adding any water. The paste should be very fine in texture and you can check this by rubbing it between the fingers.
  • Heat 1.5 cups of ghee in a heavy bottomed pan and add the dal paste and start sautéing. As soon as you mix the dal mixture, it will soak the ghee and a thick ball of dough will be prepared.
  • Add grated khoya to it and keep stirring and you will soon notice the color of the dish changing from light yellow to brown color.
  • After it is roasted, add saffron and mix. Add a little bit of cream, cardamom powder and sugar till it blends well with the ghee and starts to leave the sides of the pan.
  • Your moong dal halwa is ready to be served. Garnish it with chopped almonds and serve.
