Choosing a beautiful and meaningful baby girl name is a great pleasure for parents and this is another most important thing that can bring you and your partner close to each other when you can learn some of his likes and dislikes.
Many times it is seen that the decision is based on emotional ties and can cause great stress for couples especially when both have different choices. While naming our baby girl, I too faced this problem as my husband and I had different choice and passion for words. Whatever is the cause of your disagreement, here in this blog, I will share some tips that can help you to handle such a situation and come out with a word that you both will love for your baby girl.
How to solve some of your disagreements-
Have a clear perspective: You and your partner’s likes and dislikes are very personal and it can be really difficult to accept the dismissal of your baby girl name that you had planned since your school days. If your partner rejects the name, it often means like a personal rejection, but keep in mind that your partner is not doing anything intentionally to upset you, but it has more to do with the attachment to their choice than the rejection.
Carefully listen to your partner: While selecting an Indian baby girl names 2016 for your bundle of joy, it is very important to listen to your partner instead of arguing with him or her and trying to convince the other person about your choice, also listen to your partner. This will help to ease the tension and compromise. Avoid jumping to conclusions even if you disagree. In case you are not interested in trendy names, let your partner know about it and the reasons behind your disapproval.
Devote some more time: In any case you are unable to choose the best Indian baby girl name from the list then stop forcing your decision on your partner. Many parents try to choose a name even before the baby is born, and your partner may not be seriously involved in it. It is better to wait for some time till the belly is bigger and shows the bump or wait till you see the baby for the first time.
Work as a team: Carefully handle the situation as team members trying to sort the problem instead of blaming each other. If you can accept this, then it would be easier for you to work together. Try to list down the names from books or from naming websites that you both love and cross the names that you hate. This may appear a long process, but it works well.
So, the final note is that if your partner disagrees with a baby girl name of your choice, then try to follow the above tips and see how it works wonders for both of you.

Recently, I attended the Namkaran ceremony of one of my relatives and the thought came to my mind that how difficult it is for parents to choose a name for their newborn that could satisfy everyone.
Most of the times it is seen that grandparents suggest names that are traditional and are based on Gods and Goddesses. Such names represent the culture and beliefs of the family and are also believed to have a positive effect on the little baby. But a common complaint about traditional names is that they are heard everywhere.
The names may be very common and you have to choose something from the given list. My cousin brother preferred to remain traditional for his baby boy and wanted a name with meaning of Lord Shiva. So here is how we shortlisted some good names for the little one:
The Baby Boy Theme: The first thing that we did was to choose a particular theme for instance traditional or trendy names. We decided to remain traditional and religious and this helped us to narrow down our choice. This idea can help you to agree on a theme and make it easier to select a word that everyone would love. We agreed to search a name that meant Lord Shiva.
Seek out suggestions: Once the theme was decided upon, our next step was to ask close friends and relatives for suggestions. May people suggested names for the baby boy with meaning Lord Shiva. But we did not want to go for common names, we wanted something that was unique with the same meaning.
Check the internet: Naming websites proved to be a great help to us. We searched for names with meaning Lord Shiva on various naming website and got a huge list of words with their meanings. We wrote down the words that were appropriate and suitable for the little baby boy. As the list became bigger we also started to strike of those words that no one agreed to.
Easy to pronounce: Our next big step was to select those names from the list that were easy to pronounce and had a simple spelling. We always kept this in mind that the name should have a good meaning and should not be something that could be easily turned into something funny. This of course could be embarrassing for the kid when he grows up.
Thus, our final list of baby boy names with meaning Lord Shiva included names like Adyah, Dakshah, Devarshih, Girish, Kirat, Viresh, Rudra to mention a few.
I hope this blog will definitely help you to choose a baby name with great meaning that perfectly matches your little bundle of joy.
Recently, when I attended the naming ceremony of my cousin’s daughter, I found them really very excited about the letter that was suggested by the priest for their daughter. The letter was ‘R’. Now it was their turn to choose a perfect yet modern Indian baby girl name that would be loved by all. This is at times very difficult to satisfy each and every one in your family.
If you are planning to keep a modern name for your baby, then the first thing that you should keep in mind is the factors that should be considered while selecting the name.
Quite often it is seen that uncles and aunts suggest words that are later on shortened to form funny nicknames that your child may find embarrassing when he or she grows up.
It is very important for you as a parent that whenever you select, it should have a proper meaning associated with it and the word should not be very long or should not be a trendy one that will soon become obsolete. Whether you want to remain traditional or want to choose from the modern Indian baby girl names list, these points should always be considered while choosing a perfect name for your baby.
Here in this blog, I would love to share with you some of the modern names that we had shortlisted for our little bundle of joy that you too might find interesting and perfect for your baby girl.
Aamani: The meaning of this word is good wish or spring season. It is a Sanskrit word and baby girl with this name is believed to bring happiness to the family like the beautiful spring season after the cold winters.
Oshin: This is a very modern name and the meaning of this word is Flower. If you believe that your little bundle of joy is like a flower to you, then nothing can be better than this name for her.
Kiara: This word comes from the Irish origin and means dark haired. If your little girl is born with dark hair on her head, then you can prefer to keep this name as it suits the baby’s appearance.
Idhika: This is another word for Goddess Parvati or the Earth. Girls with this identity are believed to have the inner power and strength and have a bright future.
Some other names like Mahika, Vanya, Yashvi, Aarohi, Prisha may also be suitable for your little child.
I hope this blog will help you to lessen your struggle to choose a modern name for your girl. For more options, you can browse various naming websites that offer huge database to select from.
Christmas is a great time to prepare yummy cakes that can be served during the celebration.Baking a cake with nuts and your favorite flavor may not win you a grand prize, but it will surely make you and those around you feel blissfully immersed in Christmas that will bring harmony in life. Yes, if you are planning for a picture perfect Christmas and it has been your dream this year than baking can bring an irrefutable sense of satisfaction that can successfully bridge the gap between the fantasy world and reality.
Today in this blog, I will share with you some interesting and simple Christmas cake decorating ideas that you can find in supermarkets.
First turn the cake over so that the underside is on the top as this makes it easy to decorate the cake with a neat finish. Brush your cake with apricot jam or marmalade that has been softened in the microwave and then dust it with icing sugar. Now that your cake is sticky, it is ready for the marzipan layer. 500 grams of marzipan are enough to coat a cake that is of 8’’cake. Knead the marzipan and roll out a sausage.
Now use a rolling pin to roll it out. Measure the thickness of your cake so that it surrounds the outside of the cake. Trim neatly the two edges meet. Now take some more marzipan and roll it out into a circle. Using the tin that you used to bake the cake, cut out a circle for the top of the cake and gently seal the edges. Now start with the decoration:
Chocolate tree cake: Get some tree shaped chocolates that you can easily find in the supermarkets. Spread icing over the cake with a palette knife giving it a rippling effect and place the trees. Sprinkle edible glitters and sugar snowflake decorations.
Let party cake: Give a star effect on the icing by using a star pattern rolling pin. Push it firmly to leave a star print. Now place a 3D Lets Party sign on top of the cake and place some sparklers and light them when you bring it to the table.
Floral design cake: Take simple icing and cover the layer of marzipan. Then use a star shaped cutter to create stars. Fill each shape with edible silver balls and place some star cut out from the remaining icing to have a floating effect.
Fruit cake decoration: This Christmas cake decoration idea is simple but effective. Just buy marzipan fruit and arrange them round the rim of the cake.
I hope the above decoration ideas will help you to decorate your cake beautifully this time!

Are you planning to throw a baby shower soon? Baby shower is a party that is arranged to honor the would be mommy and daddy and also to welcome the little baby. Once the date is fixed, you may be busy sending invitations to your guests and start making arrangements related to the decorations, food and even games to entertain the guests. Few months back, I had arranged for a baby shower party for my sister in law. The decoration ideas and games that we had arranged are still fresh in my mind.
So, let me share with you some unique ideas to organize baby shower games for large groups that can keep your guests engaged and busy.
Everyone loves to play games, but not everyone loves those run of the mill baby shower games.
Here are few interesting games that your guests will simply love:
Baby products in the basket: Give each guest a pen and paper before you start this game. Prepare a basket containing different baby products. Now place the basket before the guests to have a look at the items for a minute and then remove it from there. Ask the guest to write down the names of the items on paper. The one who is able to write the maximum correct names wins the game.
Diaper themed games: You can arrange your guests into teams and each team gets a doll and diapers. Each member of the team should remove the current diaper and put a new one on the doll and then pass it to the other member of the team. The team that completes first wins the game.
Dirty diaper game: The host of this game should melt some chocolate in the diaper. Ask your guests to sit in a circle and then play music and ask them to pass the dirty diaper. When the music stops the guest holding the diaper is out of the game. The last person remaining is the winner.
Balloon games: Make your guests form teams of four to five members and give each person a balloon. When the host blows the whistle to start, the first person from the team has to blow the balloon and stick it under their dress. After the first person, the second has to do the same, etc. Once all the members of the team have done it, they have to burst the balloon. The team that completes the task first wins the game.
So, start preparing for the party games for large groups to keep your guests engaged and entertained!
